The whole country wanted to own that gas. Shell, ExxonMobil, the politicians; everybody fought over the source. Billions were pumped into it.
But the whole country also had to be converted. Every home, every connection and every boiler.
The heating engineer never became a hero. No listed company, and he never made the front page of De Telegraaf. But he did get paid. One connection at a time.

Anthropic, OpenAi, Google, Mistral — that is the new Groningen gas field. Right now they are fighting each other tooth and nail over the source. Billions are being pumped into it, everybody wants to own the gas (AI).
And every company in the Netherlands still has to be converted.
Because you cannot connect an AI system to a messy CRM, scattered data and a team that has no idea what to do with it. That does not work. Just as you could not connect a gas heater to a house that was not ready for it.
The real money is in the connection, not in the source.
It does not matter who owns the "gas"; what matters is who makes sure the heater burns at your place.
