Status as of 28 August 2026
The site has been rebuilt. During that rebuild every page was automatically checked against part of WCAG 2.2 AA, in light and dark display, at 320, 390 and 1280 pixels wide.
What has been measured and is in order:
- Contrast of all text: at least 4.5:1, and 3:1 for large text. In both displays. That check found the link colour in dark display (3.4:1) and the focus ring (2.98:1) too low; both have been adjusted.
- Target size: every clickable element at least 24 by 24 pixels (success criterion 2.5.8, new in WCAG 2.2).
- Heading structure: one H1 per page, no skipped levels.
- Visible focus on every link, button and field, with a halo so the ring stands out on any background.
- A skip link to the content, a
mainelement and a named main menu on every page. - Reflow at 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling.
- The text spacing test (line height 1.5, letter spacing 0.12em, word spacing 0.16em): nothing is lost.
- Operation with the keyboard alone, including the drop-down menu and the cookie notice.
- Animations respect the system setting for reduced motion.
- Adjustable text size, high contrast and animations off, via the button at the bottom left.
- Every image and every icon has an alternative or is marked as decorative.
What has not been tested yet:
Automated testing covers about a third of WCAG. The rest needs people. Still open, specifically: a full screen reader test across all pages (the previous review covered only the homepage), voice control, and a test with users who have a cognitive impairment. As soon as the intake form exists, it will have to be tested separately β forms are where it usually goes wrong.
So we do not claim that the site fully meets WCAG 2.2 AA. We claim that every point we could measure is correct, and that we still have to have the rest tested.

The statement as it previously stood
β ai-werkers.nl aims for WCAG 2.2 AA conformance
We want everyone to be able to use our website. Including people with a disability. On this page you can read what we have done and how to reach us if something does not work.
1. What do we mean by accessibility?
Accessibility means: everyone can use our website. Including people with a disability. Think of someone who does not work with a mouse. Or someone who uses a screen reader. Or someone who has difficulty reading.
We follow the WCAG 2.2 guidelines at level AA. This is the international standard for accessibility. European law also requires it.
2. What have we done?
In June 2026 we checked the whole website β including a user test with Marcel Westra, an experienced tester with almost no sight. This is what we improved:
- β Focus indicators β Links, buttons and fields get a blue outline when you navigate with Tab. That way you always see where you are. June 2026
- β Colour contrast β All text is easy to read. We checked the colours: 15 out of 15 combinations score well. June 2026
- β Heading structure β All pages have a logical build-up of headings. That way screen readers can follow the structure. June 2026
- β Alt text β All images have a text description. Screen readers read it aloud. Decorative images are skipped. June 2026
- β Layout tables β Tables used only for layout have been made invisible to screen readers. That way they read out only the real content. June 2026
- β Viewport β Visitors can always enlarge the page. Zooming is never blocked. June 2026
- β Readability β We checked the texts for readability. Four out of five pages read easily. Difficult words have been replaced. June 2026
- β User test with a visually impaired tester β Marcel Westra (almost no sight) tested the homepage with a screen reader. All findings have been processed. June 2026
- β Section labels turned into headings β All visual section labels (such as "OUR PRODUCTS", "WHAT CHANGES") have been merged with the H2 below them. Screen readers can now navigate by heading level. June 2026
- β Reviews section given a heading β The customer experiences had no heading level of their own. "WHAT THEY SAY / Experiences from our customers" has been added as an H2. June 2026
- β Broken links repaired β Links to /diensten and /ai-readiness-scan pointed to pages that did not exist. Redirected to the correct pages /oplossingen and /services/werktscan. June 2026
- β Spelling errors corrected β Two Dutch grammar slips ("Je wil" corrected to "Je wilt"). "Hands-in" corrected to "Hands-on". June 2026
- β Accessibility widget installed (AccessiYes) β Through a floating button visitors can set text size, contrast, dark mode, a reading guide and a large cursor. It links straight to this accessibility statement. June 2026
- ! Keyboard navigation β Tested on the homepage and VisitFlow. The rest follows in July 2026. July 2026
- ! CarWatch readability β CarWatch deliberately uses trade jargon for its audience of professional car buyers (Flesch-Douma 54.8). We are looking into whether further simplification is possible without losing functionality. Q3 2026
3. Known limitations
These do not yet work well:
- CarWatch: This page uses trade jargon for car buyers. That is deliberate. We are looking at whether we can add explanations alongside the technical terms.
- Screen reader test: We have not yet tested the site with someone who uses a screen reader. This is planned for Q3 2026.
- Vera missing from the product overview: The Vera product is not yet included in the product overview on the homepage. This will be reviewed at the next content update.
- White space between sections: Some sections lack a clear separation for screen readers. This will be taken along in the next technical update.
4. What are we still going to do?
- July 2026: Test all pages with the keyboard alone.
- Q3 2026: Follow-up test on VisitFlow, CarWatch and Contact with Marcel Westra or a comparable tester.
- Q3 2026: Add explanations to the technical terms on CarWatch.
- Ongoing: We check new texts for readability and alt text.
- January 2027: Full re-check and update of this page.
